Editing Through Walls
Blocks inside walls are hard to click. Switch to spectator mode (F3 + N or /gamemode spectator) without
leaving the editor: the tool you were holding stays active as your ghost tool, named in the boss bar.
A spectator client sends no left clicks, drops, or hotbar keys to the server, but right clicks do arrive. The editor therefore gives right click the click duties and listens to the movement keys for everything else. On the polygon wand, right click adds a corner at the block you occupy and sneak right click removes the corner under your crosshair, no lock needed.
Fly to the spot and press jump + sneak together to lock in place. Your camera stays free, but the keys now drive the tool instead of moving you:
- Wand (two mark shapes): WASD, space and shift move the glowing selection cube block by block, straight through any wall; ctrl marks it, exactly like a left click. The marks fill primary then secondary, then replace whichever is closer.
- Wand (polygon): aim at a corner and WASD nudge it half a block along the yaw cardinals, exactly like the resize tool drives faces. Space pins the aimed corner so the keys keep driving it while you look around; space again releases it.
- Move: WASD, space and shift nudge the whole region one block the way you face.
- Rotate: A/D turn the yaw; W tilts the region away from you, S pulls it back, in 15° steps, as a clean pitch or roll depending on which side you look from.
- Resize: aim at a face, W pushes it away from you, S pulls it toward you. Space pins the aimed face, so the keys keep driving it even when another face of the region slides in front of your view; space again releases it.
Press jump + sneak again to release and fly freely.
